Corus Strip Products UK is to raise the prices of flat-rolled products by £80-106/t ($156-207/t) from 1 April, depending on specification. Low inventories and global demand are the main reasons behind the increases. Corus said: “Since December 2007, the global market for Reversing Mill Plate (RMP) has continued to exhibit very strong levels of demand, rapidly rising raw material prices and energy costs. The healthy demand for plate is apparent in all key global consuming sectors.” The price increase will apply to all dispatches after 30 March 2008.
