Dear business partners,
although this year brought a slight improvement in the steel market, we were still forced to confront adverse factors. The price development has increasing trend in some European producers of steel plates since II. quarter of 2010. Manufacturers have tried to maintain this price level, which they managed until the end of the year, but the market still lacked significant demand, distributors have filled up very carefully warehouses, the company struggled with the difficulty in obtaining loans and financial complications.
Analysts estimate the production of crude iron and steel will increase by about 17 to 18 percent and production of steel pipes about 16 percent next year in the Czech Republic. But the amounts will still not reach the pre-crisis level of 2007.
